Bishkek City Hall terminated the lease agreement with the Ismankulov’s Eye Microsurgery Clinic. Kanat Sagynbaev, Deputy Head of the Municipal Property Management Department, said at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Social Issues of the Bishkek City Council.
According to him, a notification has been sent to the clinic.
«Ten days are given to them to vacate the premises,» Kanat Sagynbaev said.
In addition, deputies raised the issue of vacating premises in educational institutions, which are occupied by city services and units. So, in particular, schools No. 34 and 39 are occupied by the municipal territorial administration, No. 30 — the city medical-pedagogical commission, No. 53 — the Sverdlovsky district education center, No. 60 and 62 — branches of libraries.
As MP Ramina Idirova pointed out, this issue is raised not for the first time. «We have received a reply from the Municipal Property Management Department, which says that these facilities are social, that there is a shortage of premises. But there is nothing about attempts to find new ones,» she said.
The Ismankulov’s Clinic rented a building of the City Hospital No. 2 (former Clinical Hospital No. 6) and paid 214,000 soms per month to the capital municipality. In 2021 the lease agreement with the clinic was renewed for three years, although both the hospital management and the Healthcare Department have repeatedly raised the issue of returning the building, as the hospital does not have enough space and patients have to wait two months for hospitalization.
It became known in mid-February that the Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev instructed the hospital management to place beds for treatment of coronavirus patients in the building where the Ismankulov’s Eye Microsurgery Clinic is located, and to resume admission of patients in the main building.
