An ethnic Kyrgyz will compete as a member of the Chinese team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Xinhua news agency reports.
"The Chinese team will include two Kazakhs, one Uighur and one Kyrgyz from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Two Tibetans, a snowboarder and a skier, were for the first time included in the Chinese team.
The Winter Olympics in Beijing will be held from February 4 to February 20. The only Kyrgyzstan’s athlete will take part in it — a skier Maxim Gordeev. He will compete on February 16.
