Kyrgyzstan continues to import electricity from Turkmenistan

All power facilities of the country are operating normally. The Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev announced at a meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Subsoil Use and Industrial Policy of the Parliament.

According to him, the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant began to generate more electricity. Production has, on the contrary, decreased at Toktogul HPP.

«The situation is stable, everyone is working as usual. I think the winter period will pass steadily. The capital’s heating and power plant increased electricity generation to 2,157 billion kilowatt-hours. Last year it generated 1,398 billion kilowatt-hours. The output of the Toktogul HPP decreased from 13.7 to 12.7 billion kilowatt-hours,» the official said.

He noted that the import of electricity from Turkmenistan continues.
