Aeroflot resumes flights to Kazakhstan on January 10

The Russian Aeroflot airline resumes flights to Kazakhstan on January 10. RIA Novosti reported with reference to the company.

It is noted that the free sale of tickets for flights to Kazakhstan is also resumed. However, on January 6, Aeroflot said that due to protests in the country, all flights were canceled for the next two weeks.

«In connection with the current situation, the sale of tickets for Aeroflot’s flights to Kazakhstan, scheduled for the next two weeks, has been temporarily suspended,» the company said earlier.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2,2022. Residents of Zhanaozen and Aktau in Mangistau region opposed the increase in prices for liquefied gas, then the protests spread to other cities. The situation is slowly stabilizing; the anti-terrorist operation continues. Internet access has been restored.

President of the republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev introduced a state of emergency in the republic, dismissed the government and became the head of the Security Council. At his request, the CSTO countries sent peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan. Scorpion special unit was sent to the republic from Kyrgyzstan.
