Relations between the people of Kyrgyzstan and China can serve as a good example for many countries. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov made the statement, speaking at a special event held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The press service of the President reported.
According to its data, he emphasized that there were two peoples in Asia who lived side by side since the inception of civilization and culture and witnessed many events together — the Kyrgyz and the great Chinese.
The head of state noted that over the past 30 years significant progress has been made in strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing multifaceted interaction. Kyrgyzstan and the People’s Republic of China, which have been linked by the Great Silk Road for centuries, are strategic partners now.
According to him, the Kyrgyz Republic was one of the first to support the One Belt, One Road initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This move is based on historical circumstances and is in line with the goals of the strategic partnership.
The president added that an important task today is to eliminate the social and economic consequences of the pandemic and effectively use all mechanisms of cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
Sadyr Japarov called China one of the main partners of Kyrgyzstan in trade and investment.
The Kyrgyz side is very interested in the rapid development of mutual trade and implementation of joint investment projects, in particular, cooperation in the fields of infrastructure and transport, energy and processing industry, agriculture and tourism, as well as cooperation with the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will yield immediate results.
It is specified that the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railroad should become an important step in increasing the transit potential not only of Kyrgyzstan but also of the Central Asian region as a whole, an important part of promotion of One Belt, One Road initiative.
Sadyr Japarov focused on the fact that in 2022 Chinese companies would restart and intensify their activities in the country. For its part, Kyrgyzstan is ready to provide appropriate assistance to Chinese investors who are ready to implement joint projects in the country.
The President added that special attention is currently paid to the export of organic agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to China. He noted that the parties are making every effort to increase the cargo traffic through Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints and to improve their efficiency.
Sadyr Japarov touched upon one of the most important areas of cultural and humanitarian cooperation — education, and expressed hope that 2022 will be full of events that will raise cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
