President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov named direct threats to the territorial integrity of Kyrgyzstan today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, the last tragic events in Batken region that occurred in April and claimed the lives of people revealed them.
«Incomplete coordination of the state border with neighboring countries, complexity of negotiations on some sections, the passage of the strategic transport infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan through the territories of neighboring countries are direct threats to the territorial integrity of the republic,» Sadyr Japarov emphasized.
He added that Batken received attention at the state level as a strategic border for the first time.
A special status was granted to the region and a development program was adopted, and it was also decided to annually allocate additional 500 million soms to the region.
