«We expect a new Omicron strain to appear in the country by mid-January. There will be a high surge in COVID-19 cases, and citizens have to get vaccinated by this time. Chronic diseases are not a contraindication, on the contrary, this category of citizens is at risk, and they need to be vaccinated first of all,» he said.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of December 14, at least 1,165,204 people have been vaccinated with the first dose in the country, and 947,399 people — with the second dose.
