Agricultural producers suffer losses due to power outages in Kyrgyzstan

Agricultural producers suffer losses due to power outages in Kyrgyzstan. Executive Director of the Association for Development of Agro-Industrial Complex, Rustamzhan Baltabaev, told today at a round table discussion in Bishkek.

«We have started receiving messages from agricultural producers engaged in processing since September. Power outages lead to losses, damage to equipment and products. Processing enterprises all over the country are suffering losses. So, electricity is turned off every four days in Uzgen in the last month and a half. There are problems in Sokuluk district. The same situation is in Kara-Suu district,» he said.

The head of the Association noted that the number of complaints from agricultural producers increased recently. The Association has repeatedly sent letters to the Ministry of Agriculture, but to no avail.

Kyrgyzstan faced an energy crisis. Earlier it also became known that power industry specialists began to turn off energy-intensive capacities at enterprises.
