The first forum of rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia «Development of Science and Education — Investment in the Future» will be held in Bishkek within the framework of the state visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Education reported.
The purpose of the forum is to expand bilateral Kyrgyz-Russian scientific and educational cooperation.
It will be attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov, the Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva, rectors of 72 universities of Russia headed by the President of the Russian Union of Rectors Viktor Sadovnichy. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by the Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdieva and the rectors of 31 universities headed by the Chairman of the Association of Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdylda Musayev.
The forum participants will discuss issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the humanities and natural sciences spheres, new approaches to training of personnel in the context of modernization of the economy and others.
As a result, signing of an agreement on cooperation between the Association of Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Union of Rectors, as well as 79 bilateral agreements on cooperation and implementation of joint programs and projects between universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan is expected.
