President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan Gulbara Kalieva. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
Gulbara Kalieva informed about the preparations for the upcoming congress of judges, which would be attended by about 400 judges from all regions of the country and about 100 representatives of other state bodies.
The head of state noted that the main task of the judicial system was to ensure the rule of law, to increase the role and effective work of courts in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens through legal and fair justice.
«As a part of the ongoing judicial and legal reform in the country, the judiciary should be cleared of corruption elements. Renewal of the judicial sphere should become an integral part of the country’s progressive development in the framework of the short-term and long-term directions of the National Strategy,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov said.
