Sooronbai Jeenbekov promises to disclose new corruption facts

Country continues to fight corruption at all levels of government. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov stated at a conference «Kyrgyzstan: National Dialogue on Regional Development.»

He noted that corruption hindered economic development of the state.

«Corruption penetrated into our system deeper than we expected. Many corruption facts are disclosed, even more facts will be revealed. We will not be able to pull the country out of the economic swamp in the presence of corruption. Many projects cannot be implemented precisely because of corruption schemes. When all the people support this struggle, only then will we achieve results,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov said.

He recalled that a law on protection of citizens who reported corruption was adopted in Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, the president has already promised to disclose new facts about corrupt officials in Kyrgyzstan. On January 9, at a meeting with residents of Sokuluk district, he admitted that the scope of corruption in the country turned out to be much wider than it was previously thought.

«Much more facts will be revealed soon,» the head of state promised.
