Director of Turkish school in Bishkek accused of harassment

Director of a Turkish school in Bishkek allegedly harassed children. Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Irina Karamushkina told.

According to the parliament member, she was approached by a woman who told that children from poor families mostly attended the school. The director of the educational institution forced them to take off their pants and harassed them.

«The woman said that her child was expelled from school after she began to understand the situation. The police were not allowed into the territory of the educational institution. The teachers at the school are Turkish citizens. The Ministry of Education said the woman that they heard about the school for the first time. She wrote a statement to the State Committee for National Security,» Irina Karamushkina told.

SCNS confirmed that such a statement was received by the committee. It was send to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The Embassy of Turkey in Kyrgyzstan reported that the principal and his deputies were removed from their posts.

«There is a new temporary management at the school. Inspectors, who will come from Turkey, will check it. We cooperate with the competent authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic on the issue, all necessary information, documents and assistance are provided,» the diplomatic mission commented.
