About 12,000 foreign citizens come to Kyrgyzstan every year to earn money. The Chairman of the State Migration Service of Kyrgyzstan Bolotbek Ibraimzhanov announced this at a government meeting.
In 2016, about 12,135 foreigners reportedly obtained work permits, in 2017 — 12,138, in 2018 — 12,950.
«The state budget received 265 million soms from issue of work permits,» Bolotbek Ibraimzhanov added.
By the beginning of 2019, the Kyrgyz Republic has granted refugee status to at least 187 foreign citizens. About 87 people are citizens of Afghanistan, 70 — Syria, 19 — Ukraine, and 11 — of other states.
