President hears report of officials on preparation for SCO summit in Bishkek

The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov held a meeting on holding a summit of the SCO member states in Kyrgyzstan in June 2019. Press service of the head of state reported.

The Kyrgyz Republic took over the presidency of the organization in June 2018 at a summit of the heads of the SCO member states in the city of Qingdao of the People’s Republic of China.

«We consider the SCO as a platform for establishing mutual trust relations and developing cooperation. The authority of the SCO is strengthening and growing from year to year. The basis of the organization is the unity of the participating states, trusting partnership and mutual respect,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, the head of the Presidential Administration Dosaly Esenaliev, the Foreign Affairs Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Zhamankulov and the Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbayev presented the information about the work done and the planned activities within the framework of the SCO summit.

The main event at the SCO summit — the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO State — is scheduled for June 14-15, 2019.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed that the year 2019 would pass under the auspices of the SCO, and holding of all planned events within the summit was an important event for Kyrgyzstan. He instructed to carry out preparation at a high quality level.
