Deputies to pass no-confidence motion against Bishkek mayor at session

Deputies of the Bishkek City Council will meet tomorrow, July 13, for an extraordinary session. The Chairman of BCC Almaz Kenenbaev informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the leaders of the factions were the initiators of the session.

«We will consider the current situation with the life support of the city in connection with the latest events: the arrest of the first deputy mayor, the initiation of criminal cases against a number of leaders,» he said.

According to Almaz Kenenbaev, a telephone message with an invitation to the session was sent to the mayor of the capital, Albek Ibraimov, but it is not yet known whether he will attend it. The mayor is on vacation.

«It is not clear why the mayor decided to take vacation at the time when his first deputy was arrested, criminal cases were initiated, when it is necessary to prepare for the heating season. The Bishkek City Council, realizing that it is also responsible for the life of the city, decided to hold the session,» he said.

The leader of the majority coalition Taalaibek Sagynov, responding to the questions of 24.kg news agency, said that during the extraordinary session the deputies would pass a no-confidence motion against the mayor of the capital, Albek Ibraimov.

In his opinion, the quorum will be reached, since all deputies were informed about the initiative of the leaders of the factions of the Bishkek City Council to hold an extraordinary session on July 13.
