The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani.
The sides discussed the priority issues of cooperation in order to deepen partnership and democratic development. Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that strengthening of all-round partnership with the EU is one of the main priorities of foreign policy for Kyrgyzstan.
The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan, as a country with a parliamentary system, was interested in further development of interparliamentary cooperation with the EU to successfully implement democratic reforms.
The President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani stressed that he welcomed the position of Kyrgyzstan on strengthening the parliamentary system. He expressed the opinion that Kyrgyzstan is on the right track of development, and noted the importance of preserving the achieved results. Kyrgyzstan is an active participant in all the initiatives of the European Parliament concerning Central Asia.
