Police detain 137 wanted people during special operation

About 137 suspects, who were internationally wanted, were detained in Kyrgyzstan during a special operation. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

It is specified that 64 people of them were wanted for serious crimes, including attempted murder, deliberate infliction of serious harm to health, robbery and rape.

«Whereabouts of 61 missing persons and the identity of 19 unidentified corpses were established. At least 15 drug crimes were detected, 48,528 kg of drugs were confiscated. More than 3,400 police officers were involved in the special operation,» the Interior Ministry said.

In addition, the ministry noted that four internationally wanted Kyrgyz citizens were detained in the special operation.

«During the joint operation, persons accused of fraud in a significant amount, abuse of authority, forcing a woman to marry, kidnapping of a woman for marriage, hooliganism committed by a group of persons on prior conspiracy were arrested,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.

The special operation was held on March 14-15.
