Rally in Bishkek. Protesters demand resignation of security officials

The rally in support of the anti-corruption initiatives of the country’s president, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, which began today at the Supreme Court, moved to the White House.

According to human rights activist Dinara Oshurakhunova, protesters intend to hand over their appeal to the head of state.

«We are talking about the support of the president in the fight against corruption. In this sense, everyone sees corruption in different bodies. I see it in the police, the State Committee for National Security, the courts and the power too. I think that the president should be aware of the opinion of civil activists who are ready to help him in the fight against corruption,» said Dinara Oshurahunova.

She added that the authorities had not previously considered it necessary to meet with citizens, listen to them, and, moreover, be accountable to society.

We suggest Sooronbai Jeenbekov to begin a nationwide dialogue. Corruption will never defeat itself. Therefore, if the government wants to fight corruption, then it must rely on people with an active civil position.

The protesters demand the resignation of the head of the State National Security Committee, Abdil Segizbayev, the Prosecutor General Indira Dzoldubaeva and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ainash Tokbaeva.
