In 2017, the number of traffic accidents involving public transport almost doubled in Bishkek. Such data were presented today at the final board meeting of the Bishkek City Administration.
In just 12 months, 2,268 traffic accidents were registered in the city, which is 916 facts more than in 2016. At the same time, the number of casualties in the accidents was reduced to 67, the number of injured, on the contrary, increased and amounted to 2,894.
At least 252 traffic accidents involving public transport (in 2016 — 136), which killed 2 people and injured 408, were registered.
In 2017, at least 292,300 traffic rules violations were detected. By the court’s decision, 1,190 drivers were deprived of their driving licenses.
