Fuel safety requirements for Kyrgyzstan differ from EEU technical regulations

There are specific features for application of the provisions of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union on fuel safety for Kyrgyzstan. The Eurasian Economic Commission reported.

The term of transitional provisions, stipulated by the technical regulations of the Customs Union On requirements for automobile and aviation gasoline, diesel and marine fuel, jet fuel and fuel oil ended on December 31. This means that fuel in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan should be in line with K 4 and K 5 class.

However, it is allowed to sell fuel that meets the requirements of national legislation in Kyrgyzstan until August 12, 2021. This is due to the conditions for Kyrgyzstan’s accession into EEU and the agreed exemptions from the Union’s right.

«Production of fuel until August 12, 2021 in Kyrgyzstan is possible only in presence of documents confirming its compliance with mandatory requirements, which were set by national legislation of the country. Documents on the assessment of compliance with these requirements, issued or adopted before August 12, 2019, are valid until expiration of their validity, but not later than August 12, 2021. However, from January 1, 2018, fuel that meets the requirements of the technical regulations of the EEU and corresponds to the ecological classes K4 and K5, can be also produced and sold in Kyrgyzstan,» EEC commented.
