Bakytzhan Sagintaev will become the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) from January 1, 2024. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced it at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg.
Bakytzhan Sagintaev was the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2016 to 2019, and then the head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and head of Almaty.
Since June 2022, he has been the Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC from Kazakhstan.
