Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Politics in relation to Kyrgyzstan is open and benevolent

«The policy towards Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan is open, benevolent and pragmatic,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, said in the Strategy for Action on the five priority development directions of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021. This was announced by the Republic’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Komil Rashidov today at the round table «Cooperation of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the solution of border issues as a factor in expanding economic cooperation».

The diplomat noted that the program of the head of Uzbekistan says that the country inextricably connects with the region of Central Asia the solution of all vital issues of the country’s development — from the security of borders to the equitable distribution of water resources.

«Being in a single cultural and civilized space, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan not only as close neighbors but also as fraternal peoples have found and find mutual understanding on all issues of multifaceted cooperation. And the regular nature of the dialogue between the heads of our two fraternal states contributes to strengthening good-neighborly and friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan,» Komil Rashidov said.

According to him, today the relevant departments of the two countries are working on establishing long-term and mutually beneficial relations between companies and business circles, supporting the activities of enterprises of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the territory of the two countries.
