Agreement on establishment of SCO University signed in Astana

Within the framework of the symposium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization states in Astana, an agreement to establish the SCO University was signed, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reports.

According to it, as for Kyrgyzstan's side, the document was signed by the Minister Gulmira Kudaiberdieva. She noted that the establishment of the university is of great importance for the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties of the SCO member states.

«Taking into account the global trend of professional change for hundreds of thousands of people due to the widespread introduction of IT technologies, the robotization of production and other processes, it is desirable to pay attention to the innovative component and the introduction of those specialties that will be in high demand on the labor market in 5–10 years," the head of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic noted.

According to the Kazakh media, now the University of SCO includes 14 higher education institutions of Kazakhstan in six areas, and it is expected that the number of such institutions will only grow.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
