Kyrgyzstani Ksenia Palkina took the third place at the international tennis tournament, which ended on April 16 in Shymkent (Kazakhstan), official website of the international federation of tennis reported.
As noted, in singles Palkina dropped out of the fight in the first round, losing to Lisa Matvienko (Germany) — 2:6, 6:4, 5:7. In doubles, Kyrgyzstani played in a duet with Alexandra Perper (Moldova). In the first round, they defeated Albina Khabibulina (Uzbekistan) and Sadafmo Tolibova (Belarus) — 6:2, 6:4. In the quarter-finals, they beat Lisa Matvienko and Marlis Szupper (Austria) — 6:3, 6:1.
In the duel for the final, Palkina and Perper didn’t cope with the future champions of the tournament Ilona Kremen (Belarus) and Yana Sizikova (Russia) — 3:6, 1:6.
