Full-length documentary film to be dedicated to ecology of Issyk-Kul Lake

A full-length documentary Issyk-Kul — Fragile Pearl of Kyrgyzstan is currently being filmed in Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Union of Cinematographers informed 24.kg news agency.

The film focuses on environmental challenges and efforts to preserve Issyk-Kul Lake. The production is led by People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic and director Tynai Ibragimov, with cinematographers Ernes Mamytov and Nurdan Karypbekov.

The crew has visited the cities of Balykchy, Cholpon-Ata, and Karakol, where they documented large-scale infrastructure changes, the construction of wastewater treatment facilities, and the development of tourism sites.

The documentary also shows the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the tourist-environmental police in combating poaching.

The film is being produced at Kyrgyztelefilm studio as part of a presidential decree on urgent measures to protect the ecology of Issyk-Kul Lake.
