Japanese company to build tunnel on Bishkek - Osh highway

The Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement with a Japanese company. The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the project «Improvement of International Highways». The press service of the ministry reported.

The event was attended by the Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev, his deputy Beknazar Bazaraliev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Hideki Goda, Chief Representative of JICA in the Kyrgyz Republic Kawamoto Hiroyuki and other officials.

As part of the project, a contract was signed with the Japanese company Takenaka Civil Engineering for the construction of a 750-meter tunnel on the 400th kilometer of Bishkek — Osh highway.

As the press service of the Ministry of Transport noted, construction work is planned to begin in June 2025.
