Korea resumes transit of used Japanese cars to Kyrgyzstan

After a long break, South Korea has resumed the transit of used Japanese cars via Vladivostok to Kyrgyzstan. The city authorities reported.

The cars are being transited from the South Korean port of Sokcho. From August to October, Sokcho received 525 cars, which then arrived in Vladivostok and from there will be transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic by Glory Mobility. Another similar shipment of 450 cars is planned for October.

The port of Sokcho is called the «center of used car trade on the east coast» of Korea. The Korean port has been cooperating with Vladivostok in this area since 2003, but after the Russian side increased customs duties in 2009, it was temporarily suspended.

It was previously reported that the export of passenger cars from Japan to Russia in August increased by 26 percent. At the same time, car deliveries to the Russian Federation from South Korea in July increased by 25 percent.
