Russia has financed about 3,500 projects in Kyrgyzstan since 2015. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said at a briefing.
According to her, 3,454 projects worth $707 million have been financed through the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund since 2015.
«Russia provides regular financial assistance to the economy, economic development and social development of Kyrgyzstan,» she said, adding that the implementation of intergovernmental agreements on the development of the tax administration system and the creation of a product labeling system has significantly increased tax collection and funding for social items in the budget of Kyrgyzstan.
The Russian Federation provides assistance to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the state corporation Rosatom is carrying out work to reclaim the territories of the republic affected by uranium mining operations.
«More than 2.4 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes in 2024-2030,» Maria Zakharova noted.
In addition, support is also provided in the field of education. «Work has begun on the opening of nine general education schools in Kyrgyzstan with instruction in Russian for 1,224 students each,» the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry informed.
