Former police officer and businessman Zhalil Atambayev has been detained. The Bishkek City Court confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
On August 8, the detainee was taken in custody until September 4.
The businessman is accused of financing organized crime groups and criminal communities (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic).
In March 2021, the State Committee for National Security opened several criminal cases against former police officer and now businessman Zhalil Atambayev. According to investigators, while being a police officer, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activity and bought real estate worth more than 100 million soms. Zhalil Atambayev entered into a cooperation agreement with the investigation and transferred 100 million soms to a deposit account.
