New school for 225 students to be built in Aikol village, Batken region

A school for 225 students will be built in Aikol village, Batken region. The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reported.

A capsule was laid at the site of the construction of a new building of the educational institution. The Education Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva took part in the ceremony.

The total cost estimate for the construction of the new building is 70 million soms. Construction work will be financed from the republican budget.

Currently, the school has 284 students, 34 teachers and 11 technical workers.

The ministry noted that the building of the educational institution was recognized as unsafe in 2021.

«In 1963, 8 March primary school was moved from the village of Gordoi to a two-room house for livestock breeders, built in 1954-1955. In 1975-1977, two classrooms were built using the ashar method, and the school was transformed into a general school. In 1981-1983, five more classrooms were added, and a school with 140 places began to function,» the Ministry of Education said.
