Preventive measure was changed for the former customs officer Nurmamat Kanaev, nicknamed Mantai. Oktyabrsky District Court confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Investigator of the State Committee for National Security applied to the court with a petition to change the measure of restraint. By ruling of the investigating judge of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek on December 27, 2023, the petition was granted.
«Previously chosen measure of restraint in the form of detention was changed to his own recognizance,» the court said.
Journalists found out that Nurmamat Kanaev was detained in early December 2023. But he was not taken into custody; the detainee became ill and was hospitalized. It turned out that he paid 100 million soms to the state.
According to official data, he is charged with financing of organized groups and criminal communities.
