The police detained one of the participants of the rally at Dordoi market and placed him in a temporary detention facility. The Department of Internal Affairs of Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek informed 24.kg news agency.
The department recalled that a video had previously been posted on social media, in which unknown persons, grossly violating public order, inflicted bodily harm on a man on the territory of the market. The footage shows how one of the women hit the assistant to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, who came to meet with the protesters.
A criminal case has been initiated into the fact under Article 280 «Hooliganism» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Sellers of Dordoi market held a protest on Thursday demanding to allow them to work under licenses as before. In addition, rallies were held at Taatan, Madina, and Orto-Sai markets.
