16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign started in Kyrgyzstan.
It takes place annually from November 25 to December 10 and aims to draw attention to the problem of violence against women and girls.
This year’s campaign is dedicated to the importance of funding preventive strategies to eradicate violence before it occurs.
It is noted that violence affects one in three women worldwide. It has a negative impact on woman’s physical and mental well-being. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, armed conflicts and climate change exacerbate the problem, leading to economic insecurity and disruption of access to livelihoods.
