Employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a group of foreign citizens suspected of drug distribution in Astrakhan Oblast. INTERFAX reported with reference to official representative of the ministry Irina Volk.
«Three citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were detained by police in Stavropol Krai and taken to Astrakhan,» Irina Volk said.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 20 residents of Astrakhan were previously hospitalized in intensive care unit with signs of toxic poisoning by an unidentified substance. «The victims used synthetic drugs the day before,» the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained.
A criminal case was initiated on the fact.
The press service of the Ministry of Health of Astrakhan Region reported that 19 people have been hospitalized over the past three days, six of them are in serious condition.
