Russian Foreign Minister meets with Ambassadors of Central Asian states

Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov met with the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan accredited in Moscow. The press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

A comprehensive assessment was given to the interaction of the Russian Federation with each of the states of the Central Asian region both bilaterally and within the framework of common international organizations, including the CIS, EAEU, CSTO and SCO. The parties stated the stability of trade and economic relations, growth of trade turnover, close nature of scientific-educational and cultural-humanitarian ties.

«Mutual willingness to ensure conditions for sustainable development of the entire multidimensional complex of strategic partnership, including the sphere of security and regional stability was stressed. The issues of cooperation in CA5+Russia format and implementation of the results of the first summit of this mechanism, held in Astana on October 14, 2022, were considered separately. Attention was paid to the development of scientific and practical cooperation in the field of water use and solving the environmental problem of the Aral Sea region,» the statement says.
