In the first half of this year, Russia exported eggs for $3.5 million. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan account for 96 percent of the supplies. RIA Novosti’s analysis of data from the UN Comtrade platform says.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday proposed imposing a temporary ban on the export of edible poultry eggs from Russia for six months. The document is posted on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
According to the data, Russia exported eggs and semi-finished products worth $3.5 million in the first half of the year, or an average for $580,000 per month.
The main buyer was Kyrgyzstan, which purchased eggs from the Russian Federation for $2.6 million. Azerbaijan is in second place ($712,000), followed by Uzbekistan ($84,000), Armenia ($30,000), Georgia ($29,000) and India ($3,000).
July data on most countries is not yet available, but Armenia, for example, sharply increased purchases — up to $55,000, which is 1.8 times more than the amount for six months of the year. Azerbaijan also increased imports 1.6 times compared to the average in the first half of the year — to $188,000.
