Four active members of the religious extremist organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir were detained in Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad region. The press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.
According to it, they were arrested as part of a criminal case initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 332 (production, distribution of extremist materials) of the Criminal Code.
The detainees carried out work on propaganda and dissemination of extremist ideology, and were also involved in attracting new adherents into their ranks. Religious extremist literature and leaflets related to Hizb-ut Tahrir al Islami were found in their home. A forensic religious examination was scheduled based on the seized materials.
The detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the Department of the State Committee for National Security for Jalal-Abad region; investigative and operational measures are being carried out.
