50 Customs Service employees fired for ties to Kamchi Kolbaev, Raiym Matraimov

About 50 employees of the State Customs Service were dismissed for their ties to liquidated crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev and ex-deputy head of the Customs Service Raiymbek Matraimov, who was found guilty of corruption. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

In the course of measures to detect the close ties of the crime boss Kamchybek Asanbek, some officials in the Customs Service, who violated internal orders, were identified.

It was found that about 50 employees of the state service had close ties with the so-called crime kingpin and the former deputy chairman of the Customs Service. These employees have been relieved of their posts.

Work continues to identify others involved in violations.

The crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev was eliminated during a special operation in Bishkek on October 4. The press center of the SCNS reported that the leader of the organized crime group was detained, who offered armed resistance during detention and was killed.

Following this, video messages from crime kingpins Ulan Toktosunov (Sakal), Kadyrbek Dosonov (Dzhengo), Ulan Barchakeev (Uzun Ulan), Baktybek Amankulov and Almazbek Ermekbaev, the «enforcer» in Osh, began to appear on social media, who renounced their criminal status and promised to follow the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.
