Livestock markets being inspected in Kyrgyzstan

Just over half of livestock markets meet veterinary and sanitary requirements. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan reported.

To date, there are 45 livestock markets in Kyrgyzstan, and only 25 of them meet the established veterinary and sanitary requirements.

The Ministry of Agriculture provided data by regions. All nine markets in Osh region meet veterinary and sanitary standards, while 8 markets do not meet the requirements in Chui region.

«Only six out of 8 existing markets in Batken region meet veterinary and sanitary requirements. There are 11 markets in Jalal-Abad region, and only 4 of them meet the established standards. Only half out of 4 markets in Naryn region meet the established veterinary and sanitary requirements. The situation is similar in Issyk-Kul region: only 1 out of 2 markets meets the requirements. All 3 livestock markets in Talas region fully satisfy veterinary and sanitary requirements,» the ministry reported.

Over 9 months, fines totaling 122,000 soms were imposed on 14 livestock markets that do not meet veterinary and sanitary requirements.
