The President of Russia spoke to reporters and told about the results of negotiations with Sadyr Japarov, the history of the creation of Kant airbase and the projects that the Russian Federation is ready to support in Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the negotiations took place in a friendly and constructive manner. They were very effective. Almost every participant spoke and made proposals for the development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The parties discussed in detail the wide range of bilateral relations, as well as current regional and international issues.
«Our countries are actively switching to national currency in settlements and building channels of credit and banking cooperation. As a result, the share of the ruble in transactions reached impressive 83 percent,» Vladimir Putin said.
He also noted that Eurasian integration brings tangible dividends to all participants in the process. For example, for eight years after the Kyrgyz Republic joined the EAEU, its GDP and industrial production have increased 2.3 times. The Russian President also said that the desire of Kyrgyzstan’s authorities to increase the level of gas supply of the republic to 60 percent will be supported.

He believes that the Kant airbase makes a significant contribution to enhancing the defense capability of the Kyrgyz Republic, ensuring security and stability throughout the Central Asian region. And he even remembered under what conditions the airbase appeared in the country.
«I remember it very well, how Kant was created. Then the leadership of the republic directly addressed the Russian Federation with a request to immediately, as quickly as possible, place our aviation wing here, because Kyrgyzstan was attacked by gangs. Many people suffered. This required a quick, collaborative response. And today the airbase has acquired serious regional significance,» Vladimir Putin said.
He noted the multifaceted nature of the Russian-Kyrgyz partnership, which covers different areas, and spoke about the importance of the work of the KRSU (Kyrgyz- Russian Slavic University), the opening of branches of Russian universities in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«Today more than 100 teachers work in schools in Kyrgyzstan. We understand that this is not enough. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic sets more ambitious goals. We fully support this and will work in this direction,» the Russian leader stated.
He also noted that the positions of Russia and Kyrgyzstan on many issues on the global agenda coincide or are close to it. Countries coordinate their work at many international platforms.
«I am sure that the results of the visit will contribute to the development of allied relations between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic for the benefit of all citizens of our states,» Vladimir Putin concluded.
