Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on 43.32 kilometers of common border sections

The working groups of the government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border agreed on 43.32 kilometers of its common sections. The Tajik news agency Khovar reported.

According to it, the parties signed a corresponding protocol.

The event took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding. The meeting of topographic working groups and working groups on legal issues of government delegations of the two countries on border delimitation and demarcation was held from October 3 to October 7 in Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic; the next meeting will take place on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

A regular joint meeting of the government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border was held in Batken on October 2. The heads of the State Committee for National Security of the two states signed a protocol on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. Kamchybek Tashiev noted that this protocol was signed by agreement of the two parties and provides grounds for resolving all border issues.

The length of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is more than 980 kilometers. Negotiations on delimitation have been ongoing since December 2002.
