The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, as part of a working visit to Berlin, held bilateral negotiations with the Federal Chancellor of Germany.
Current issues on the Kyrgyz-German agenda in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
Olaf Scholz expressed confidence that the meeting would give new impetus to bilateral interaction between the countries. He expressed Germany’s interest in continuing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the format of interregional and bilateral contacts and noted the need to further deepen the partnership both between the governments and between the business circles of the two states.
Sadyr Japarov said that the initiative to hold the first Germany — Central Asia summit was timely. He emphasized that it was very important for Kyrgyzstan that this format was not only declarative and political in nature, but also filled with concrete economic projects.
Touching upon bilateral economic cooperation, the President noted a certain intensification in this direction. In November, the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council will be held in Hamburg, where a large number of entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan and Germany are expected to participate.
Sadyr Japarov reported on the signed Memorandum of Understanding with the German company Knauf for the construction of a building materials plant in Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope for further growth in investment cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, he touched upon one of the significant issues on the regional agenda — hydropower, noting the openness of the Kyrgyz side to partnership in this direction.
