President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the management of a large manufacturing company Knauf. Press service of the head of state reported.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the construction industry is of strategic importance for the infrastructural development of Kyrgyzstan and the achievement of its economic goals. There is a construction boom in Kyrgyzstan. Therefore, this area is of particular relevance in the country.
The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan is interested in entry of large German companies into the country.
In turn, Knauf managing partner Uwe Knotzer told about the company’s interest in building a gypsum processing plant in the north of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in general in localizing the company’s production in the country.
He noted that the construction of a plant in Chui region will not only improve the well-being of the local population by creating jobs, but will also give an additional impetus to the development of the region as a whole. Uwe Knotzer noted that the company plans to build the first plant in the north of the country at the first stage. In the future, the possibility of building a second plant in the south of Kyrgyzstan will be considered.
