The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan adopted a resolution on the introduction of a temporary ban on the export of regenerated paper and cardboard (waste paper and waste) outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The website of the Cabinet of Ministers says.
The ban is set for six months — until March 2024.
Recall, a number of large enterprises producing paper products operate in Kyrgyzstan, such as Bishkek Cardboard LLC, Alikhan Company LLC, Altyn-Azhydaar LLC, Paper Company LLC, Efes Ltd LLC, IFA LLC and Kosh Tamchy LLC.
According to the information from Altyn-Azhydaar and Kosh Tamchy LLP, Kyrgyz enterprises are experiencing a shortage of regenerated raw materials, production capacity is used by 30-40 percent.
It should be noted that the ban was first imposed in 2021 and has been continuously extended since then.
The resolution was adopted on September 18, 2023 and will come into force after ten days from the date of its official publication.
