Athletes from Kyrgyzstan won three gold and two silver medals at the World Horseback Wrestling Championship. The Er Enish Federation reported.
The first ever Er Enish (horseback wrestling) World Championship was held in Kyrgyzstan from September 22 to September 24, 2023. Kyrgyzstan took the first place in the team scoring, followed by Kazakhstan and Russia.
«The competition was held only among men over 18 and included the following weight categories: 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and over 100 kilograms. Wrestlers weighing more than 80 kilograms could compete in the open weight class,» Er Enish Federation President Nurlanbek Azygaliev told.
The total prize fund of the championship was 1,650 million soms. The winners of gold medals in each weight category received 100,000 soms, silver medalists were awarded 75,000 soms, and two bronze medalists received 50,000 soms each.
