Presentation of the book «When Mountains Fall» in Azerbaijani language took place at the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of classic writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
According to it, the book, which was published with the support of the Embassy, includes other works of the prose writer.
The event was attended by the President of the International Chingiz Aitmatov Foundation Eldar Aitmatov, author of the translation Azerbaijani writer Nariman Abdulrahmanli, heads and staff of embassies and international organizations in Baku, officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan and representatives of creative intelligentsia.
The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Kairat Osmonaliyev noted that Chingiz Aitmatov had a special attitude to Azerbaijan, as evidenced by his warm relations with the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and awarding the writer with the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was presented by the President Ilham Aliyev.
