CIS industrial cooperation: Kyrgyzstan outlines several areas

Kyrgyzstan has outlined several areas for cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation and development of certain branches of this area. The Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Ainura Usenbekova, told at a press conference.

The country presented the assembly of electric cars and the development of electrical engineering in general as one of the priority directions.

This is due to the fact that the republic has good reserves of silicon, which is used in electrical engineering. In addition, Kyrgyzstan is interested in the development of mining and metallurgical complex. Now it is developing in a raw material form, the country wants to establish a system of value chains.

«We are working on this direction, applying stimulating measures. But we need partnership for the development and application of new technologies and in personnel training. In general, we are also interested in developing together with our CIS partners the spheres of machinery and equipment production, machine-tool construction, chemical industry, microelectronics, taking into account the raw material base. The light industry was also mentioned. Our garment industry is well developed, but we do not have a coherent cluster chain, we are trying to build it from raw materials to commodity form. Kyrgyzstan is interested in the development of pharmaceutical and food industries. We have potential, but we need technological modernization,» Ainura Usenbekova said.
