Another State Duma deputy proposes to tighten legislation against migrants

Another deputy of the State Duma of Russia proposes to tighten the legislation against migrants.

According to Gennady Semigin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Issues of Nationalities, it is necessary to speed up the development of a government bill on the entry and exit of foreign citizens, including issues of adaptation of migrants, and also to significantly update the concept of migration policy.

«Now it is necessary to tighten the legislation regarding the registration of migrants,» said Gennady Semigin. «As soon as a migrant crosses the border, the Russian authorities should have an understanding of where he or she will live, where they plan to register. Only such an approach will help to avoid what is called enclave settlement, the formation of ethnic criminal groups.»

He also proposes to provide for the documentation of ethnic enclaves at the legislative level.

«Introduction of a special register is possible. Such a register will allow to have a factual base with which law enforcement agencies and special services, local authorities and religious communities should work in a special mode. Having such information, it will be possible to monitor the growth of destructive influences from the outside on the sentiments within the migrant community,» the deputy said.

Earlier, another State Duma deputy, Mikhail Matveev, proposed to deprive migrants, who have already received Russian citizenship, but refuse to register for military service and mobilization of the citizenship.
