Daughter of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Saida, could become the head of the presidential administration. Radio Ozodlik (Uzbek service of Azattyk. — Note of 24.kg news agency) reports.
The media outlet, citing unnamed sources in the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reported that «she is expected to be appointed to the post of first assistant to the president in the near future,» and this will be the highest position in the renewed administration of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Ozodlik’s sources also told about other personnel reshuffles in the highest circles of power, but these appointments have not yet been officially announced.
Moreover, earlier, the presidential press service officially confirmed the information published by Ozodlik about the dismissal of the head of the presidential administration, Sardor Umurzakov. As it was explained, this position was abolished, and Sardor Umurzakov became an adviser to Shavkat Mirziyoyev on special assignments.
But earlier, Ozodlik received information of disagreements between him and Saida Mirziyoyeva, who officially holds the position of head of the communications and information policy sector in her father’s administration. In this position, she promoted a number of legislative initiatives related to women’s rights and education, which were actively promoted in the local media.
A month earlier, Ozodlik published an investigation into nepotism in Uzbekistan during the rule of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who appointed more than 20 relatives to high positions after coming to power. Saida Mirziyoyeva is already called a possible successor to her father as head of state, and if she is appointed to the post of head of the presidential administration, these assumptions may intensify.
