Inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan decreases by $10.5 million for month

In June 2023, migrants transferred $163.5 million to Kyrgyzstan, which is $10.5 million less than a month earlier. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Compared to June 2022, the figure decreased 1.9 times, or by $153.7 million. Russia accounts for most of the remittances— $148.3 million. At least $6.6 million was transferred to Kyrgyzstan from other states, $5.1 million — from the USA. In total, in January — June 2023, compatriots transferred $961.5 million to the country. This is 28.6 percent, or $386.1 million, less than in the past.

According to the results of June, there was also an outflow of funds of $32.4 million. The figure decreased by $2.1 million for a month. Compared to June 2022, the figure decreased 2.6 times, by $53.3 million. The main part of the money was transferred to Russia ($30.5 million). For just six months of 2023, $256.8 million were еtransferred from the republic, which is $105 million less than in 2022.

The net inflow of remittances in January — June 2023 to Kyrgyzstan is estimated at $704.7 million. This is $281.1 million less than in the first six months of the last year.

At year-end 2022, the volume of money transfers to the country amounted to $2,928.2 billion. At least $1,200.7 billion were transferred from the Kyrgyz Republic to other states. Net inflow is $1,727.5 billion.
